Tricky Miki chalks up another stakes win in seasonal debut

The four-time Group 1 winner Tricky Miki opened his 5-year-old campaign in style at Gloucester Park on Friday night, taking out the $50,000 Group 3 Lord Mayorʻs Cup.

In the trail for the majority of the race Tricky Miki was briefly blocked for a run turning for home before charging through when the gaps appeared to nail the former Fremantle Cup winner Minstrel on the line in a career best mile rate of 1:53.6.

It was the son of Always B Mikiʻs 12^th career win and took his earnings past $500,000.
