Just weeks into the 2024 season and Captain Crunch has already sired his first New Zealand 2-year-old qualifier!
The Bob Butt trained Ukraine was an impressive winner of the 2YO Mobile Pace at the Rangiora Trials yesterday.
Last at the top of the straight, the son of Captain Crunch roared home to score by three lengths, rating a handy 57.5 for the last 800m.
Ukraine is out of the Presidential Ball mare Back In The USSR, making him a half to the former Harness Jewels 2YO winner Dizzy Miss Lizzy.
