Faith In Manchester was a smart winner of the Group 3 Waikato Trotting Breeders Stakes at Cambridge Raceway yesterday afternoon, defeating a talented field of trotting mares.

The daughter of Creatine stepped away cleanly and quickly settled in the trail behind leading chance Kiss And Run.

Biding her time behind the race leader for the majority of the 2,700m trip, Faith In Manchester showed a superb turn of foot in the closing stages, using the passing lane to put the contest beyond doubt when sprinting home strongly to score by one and three-quarter lengths from stablemate and recent NZ Trotting Derby runner-up Melsadele.

It was the Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett trained mareʻs seventh race-day win overall and took her stakes earnings to just over $110,000.

Bred and raced by Heather and Russell Steel, Faith In Manchester is out of the Earl mare Manchester Lass, who was herself a Group 3 winner of the Northern Trotting Breeders Stakes.
