Vincent’s first crop weanlings in demand
The progeny of Vincent were keenly sought after by buyers at the New Zealand Bloodstock All Age Sale on Wednesday afternoon, with the four-time Group 1 winner achieving a 100% clearance rate and an average price of more than three and a half times his service fee.
Nine weanlings, seven fillies and two colts, sold for an average of $14,333 – the highest for a first season sire and the third highest average overall behind only Art Major and Bettor’s Delight.
Vincent’s top lot, a filly out of Delightful Lover, sold for $26,000 and was purchased by Vincent’s former owner and astute judge of young stock, Jean Feiss.
Feiss also purchased a daughter of Vincent out of Sheza Monkee, a full sister to triple millionaire Monkey King, for $19,000.
A filly out of the former Group 1 Easter Cup winner Alta Serena also made good money at $23,000.
