Son of Creatine takes out Ohio Sires Stakes Championship Final
The Bob Stewart trained Hung Over timed his run to perfection in the $300,000 Ohio Sires Stakes Scarlet Championship Final for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings at Northfield Park on Saturday night (US time).
A last start third in the Kentucky Sires Stakes Championship, Hung Over slotted into the trail off the gate, bided his time until the passing lane presented itself, then charged home to nail Spaaaanzano on the line and score by a nose.
Another son of Creatine, Royal Precedent, was a gallant third, a length back, after racing without cover for the entire mile.
It was the eighth win for the ultra-consistent colt who has only twice finished outside of the top three in his career, and took his earnings to US$487,933.
Hung Over is out of the Yankee Glide mare Drunkardʻs Dream.
