Perfect start for Father Patrick down-under
Have No Fear made it two winners from two 2-year-old starters for Father Patrick down-under, with a smart performance on debut at Addington Raceway on Friday evening.
The Darryn Simpson trained gelding settled three back on the inside off the gate before moving out to the take the lead with just over a lap to run. Taken on in the closing stages by Franco Jorik (Muscle Mass), Have No Fear showed plenty of determination to hold off the challenger and win going away again at the line by three-quarters of length.
Bred by Michelle Baird, Have No Fear was a $32,000 purchase at the 2019 NZB Sale of Trotters and is out of the former NZ Trotting Oaks winner Without Fear, a sister to the NZ 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year Fear Factor. This is also the family of the Australian 3YO Trotting Colt/Gelding of the Year Stress Factor and the NZ Hambletonian Classic winner Prince Fearless.
