Nevele R Stud is pleased to announce its stallion line-up and service fees for the 2024-25 breeding season.

Mindful of the current economic conditions the stud has lowered a number of its service fees.

“We recognise that it’s tough out there at the moment and wanted to make it a bit easier financially for breeders, the mainstay of our industry, amid rising costs in so many other areas” stated Nevele R Stud General Manager Ged Mooar.

The coming breeding season sees the addition to the studʻs stallion ranks of the most exciting trotting stallion to have ever shuttled to the Southern Hemisphere, Tactical Approach.

Standing at Alabar Australia, he will be the first ever US Trotter of the Year to physically stand in the flesh down-under.

By North Americaʻs hottest young trotting sire Tactical Landing, Tactical Approach is the first 3-year-old since Muscle Hill to win the Hambletonian, Kentucky Futurity and Breeders Crown in the same season.

His service fee is NZ$9,000 + gst (AU$9,900 incl gst), with multiple mare discounts applying.

Creatine, Father Patrick and Marcoola round out the studʻs trotting sires complement.

Creatine continues to be one of the best value trotting stallions available with 73% winners to starters, and a very healthy 8.6% stakes winners to starters in the Southern Hemisphere to date. He is leaving horses the calibre of the 2023 Victoria Trotting Oaks and Need For Speed Princess Final winner Shes Ruby Roo, recent stakes winner Virginia Clowers, the winner of five of her six starts this year, and the 2024 Group 1 Sumthingaboutmaori Mares Free For All runner-up Lady Adelia.

Father Patrick has been New Zealandʻs leading sire of 2-year-old trotters for the past two seasons and looks to have a strong hand again in 2024, having sired the first four runners home in the recent Group 3 Young Guns 2YO Trotters Final. He currently leads the NZ 3YO Trotting Sires Table too.

Last season also saw him place third on the Australian 2YO Trotting Sires Table and fourth on the Australian All-Age Sires List.

Marcoolaʻs oldest progeny are 2-year-olds this season and the three-time Group 1 winner has already sired a trial winner in Senior Constable Liz. With some nice types on the ground we look forward to them stepping out on race-day as more 2-year-old trotting races get underway later in the season.

Lazarus returns to stand his third season at Nevele Rʻs Prebbleton farm.

With his oldest Southern Hemisphere crop just three in 2024, he is already the sire of the smart Group 1 winner Nathan Street – the fastest male juvenile pacer in Australia last season with a mark of 1:50.5, the WA Group 2 winner Grevis, and in New Zealand, from small numbers, the talented Harness Million 3YO Final place-getter Jeremiah.

Always B Mikiʻs results speak for themselves and he is undisputably one of the worldʻs leading pacing stallions. Star down-under progeny this season include the likes of the brilliant Queen Elizabeth II Mile winner Aardieʻs Express and New Zealandʻs richest juvenile to date in 2024, Rubira, also a Group 1 winner this season.

Captain Crunch has got off to a great start in both hemispheres with his first North American crop producing the Breeders Crown winner Gem Quality and six stakes performers to date in the Southern Hemisphere, with five of these coming in New Zealand from just 12 starters, including the Group 1 NZ Welcome Stakes runner-up Malakai.

He is the sire of an impressive 13 individual Australasian 2-year-old winners to date.

Pebble Beach, the 2022 US and Canadian 3YO Pacer of the Year, returns to Alabar Australia for his second season down-under after serving a good book of mares in his debut season in 2023.

Vincent has compiled a strong record at stud to date, with the son of Art Major siring 109 winners from his first two crops (now 4 and 3), five $100,000+ earners and 10 stakes winners. He is currently fourth on the NZ 4YO Pacing Sires Table and fifth on the Australian 3YO Pacing Sires List.

Ultimate Machete has quickly made his mark at stud, siring the stakes winners Smooth Machete and Miss Idaho, and the Group 1 place-getters Ultimate Racy Girl and Miss Hepburn from his first crop, along with Saturdayʻs Redcliffe Yearling Sales Series 2YO Final winner Sinabun from his second.

He stands at Cobbitty Farm, NSW and is again available to New Zealand breeders in 2024.

Ultimate Sniper, whose first foals are yearlings this season, completes the stallion line-up.
