Father Patrick filly takes out The Kentuckiana Stallion Management
The Jim Campbell trained Father Patrick filly Sherry Lyns Lady was a last stride winner of the $215,000 The Kentuckiana Stallion Management Stakes for 2YO Trotting Fillies at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on September 20 (US time).
Leading past the quarter pole, the race favourite Sherry Lyns Lady handed up to the second favourite Sorella soon after and bided her time until the home stretch where she was able to dash through on the inside and catch the runaway leader Rock Swan on the line to score by a nose in a career best time of 1.54.4.
It was the James Doherty Memorial runner-up’s second career win and took her freshman seasonal earnings to $264,154.
A $220,000 Lexington Select purchase, Sherry Lyns Lady is out of the beautifully bred Muscle Hill mare Demoiselle Hanover, a half-sister to the US Horse of the Year Donato Hanover.
Father Patrick is enjoying a terrific season with his first commercial sized crop of 2-year-olds and is currently second only to the Muscle Hill on the US 2YO Trotting Sires Premiership, with progeny earnings of just under $2,000,000 to date in 2019.
