It was another terrific weekend of results for Always B Miki with his progeny taking out both of the Listed 3-year-old features at Albion Park on Saturday night.

In the Racing & Sports.com Colts and Geldings Classic The Janitor justified his short odds, with the up-and-comer racing without cover for the last mile but still proving too good for the rest of the field and winning by 2.5m in a 1:55.9 mile rate for the 2,138m trip.

The Chantal Turpin trained gelding has now won seven of his 13 starts and banked almost $64,000 in stakes money.

He is out of the New Zealand bred mare Weka Lass, a stakes placed Badlands Hanover daughter of the former Group 1 Chariots Of Fire winner Oaxaca Lass.

In the Burwood Stud Fillies Classic, it was little more than a training run for Aardie B Miki, with the Queensland Oaks winner coasting to a five length victory after leading throughout.

Also trained by Chantal Turpin, Aardie B Miki took her record to eight wins and $216,192 in stakes earnings to date.

Aardie B Miki is out of the multiple Group 1 placed Rocknroll Hanover mare Tatijana Bromac and is a full sister to fellow Group 1 winner Aardieʻs Express, along with the stakes placed Aardieʻs Flash.

Earlier on the card the 5-year-old Always B Miki mare Illavabubbles made up a stack of ground late to finish second in the Group 3 Forever Gold Mares Open.

The previous evening another of Always B Mikiʻs talented progeny, Mister Smartee, acquitted himself well in the WA Pacing Cup, finishing runner-up in his first attempt at Group 1 level to the seasoned open class star Minstrel.

In North America, the Brett Pelling trained filly Direction flew the flag for her sire over the weekend beating a star studded field, that included the dual Breeders Crown winner My Girl EJ and the recent Glen Garnsey and Bluegrass Stakes winner Rocket Deo, in the $116,000 Matron Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Dover Downs.

Out of the Sweet Lou mare Blood Red, the reigning Kentucky Sires Stakes Champion has now won 12 of her 20 race-day starts and placed in a further six for earnings of $570,221.
