Always B Miki mares quinella Kentucky Sires Stakes Final
Always B Miki sired the first two home in the $100,000 Kentucky Sires Stakes 4YO Mares Final at Oak Grove today, with Strong Poison downing Always B Naughty in 1:49.4 – the fastest time recorded by a mare in North America this season.
Strong Poison swept to the lead through the second quarter and never gave anyone else a look in, scoring by three and three-quarter lengths, with the race favourite Always B Naughty making up ground late to finish in second spot.
It was Strong Poisonʻs 10th lifetime win and took her earnings to just over $910,000.
She is out of the Rocknroll Hanover mare Fiyonce.
It was almost a clean sweep of the pacing finals for Always B Miki, with his son Tip Top Cat, just getting nabbed on the line by Combustion in the 4YO Entires and Geldings Final.
