Always B Miki filly wins Breeders Crown Final
The super consistent Always B Miki filly Kiss was a well-deserved winner of the Group 2 Breeders Crown 3YO Fillies Final at Melton on Saturday night.
Parked for the last mile, the Emma Stewart trained filly simply proved too tough for her rivals, running out the winner by three-quarters of a length at the line.
The win was just reward for the filly and her connections, with Kiss having finished second in the Group 1 Victoria Oaks in October and a close fourth in the Group 1 Vicbred Super Series Final the previous month.
It was her sixth career win and took her earnings to $183,291.
Bred by Alabar NZ, Kiss is out of the Art Major mare Weownthenight, a half-sister to the 2018 NZ Cup winner Thefixer.
She was sold at the 2021 NZB National Standardbred Weanling Sale for what now seems like the bargain price of $20,000.
Incredibly, Kiss is the eighteenth stakes winner for Always B Miki in the Southern Hemisphere this season, with the stallion producing a phenomenal eight Group 1 winners to date in 2024.
