The Chris Ryder trained Always B Miki filly Miki And Minnie rounded out a highly successful freshman season with a stakes record equalling win in the $338,200 Three Diamonds Final for 2-year-old pacing fillies at the Meadowlands on Saturday night (US time).

Fifth through a blistering 26.6 opening quarter, Miki And Minnie got a cart into the race on the back of the second favourite Rodeo Drive Deo and reeled her in in the straight to score by a length and a half in a career best 1:49.4, equalling JK First Lady’s 2019 record for the Three Diamonds.

The winner of the Breeders Crown Final at her previous start, Miki And Minnie has now won six races and $834,086 in stakes money – making her the richest juvenile pacer in North America this year.

In winning the Three Diamonds Final Miki And Minnie emulated her dam, the Roll With Joe mare That’s The Ticket, who won the race back in 2016.
