A Rocknroll Dance 2YO's take out KYSS heats

It was another great weekend of results for first season sire A Rocknroll Dance at The Red Mile with Band Stand and Grand Teton victorious in their respective Kentucky Sire Stakes (KYSS) heats on September 9 (US time).

The Tony Alagna trained Band Stand made it a clean sweep of her three KYSS heats with a tough win in Saturday's $30,000 feature. Parked from the half way point the classy filly was simply too good for her rivals once again, running down the pace-making Let's Fall In Love in the straight, then holding off the fast finishing Hurrikane Empress to score by a half length in 1:53.2.

Unbeaten in four starts, Band Stand is the winner of $46,550 in stakes to date.

As impressive as Band Stand was the Jimmy Takter trained Grand Teton (pictured) was even more so in winning his heat - striding to the lead by the 800m mark and careering away in the straight to a five and three-quarter length victory in a time of 1:52.2.

The winner of five of his six starts to date, Grand Teton has banked $62,500 in career earnings.

Off to a flying start with his debut crop, A Rocknroll Dance is the winner of 23 individual 2-year-old race winners of over $630,000 in stakes.
